Once a year John and Sandy publish a compendium of short stories called John Carpenter’s Tales for a Halloween Night that comes out in October and I’ve been lucky to have been a part of some of those books. I started writing short stories as a kid and love the form. Writing short comic book scripts was also how I got started in graphic novels. It’s a way to stretch a different set of muscles and give the audience a short sharp shock.
